Protecting Elements in Worksheets

I want to protect a worksheet, leaving some cells unlocked for others to edit, and have others be able to sort elements in the worksheet. Even selecting "Sort" as an option when checking Protect Sheet doesn't enable sorting. Any suggestions?

The Sort will only be allowed on the unprotected cells. A macro can be used to sort the range (including locked cells). If you interested, attach the workbook here.
