    I tried your suggestion but i still was able to delete the picture

    As I told in my previous post, I selected the range, unchecked 'locked' (Format cells > Protection) and protected the sheet.

    I got the picture to protect.I then tried to protect the cells with values(names) like the picture but it would not protect.....also can the dropdown box cell be protected but the names in the list can still be selected and changed
