    Read/write very large xl2007 files

I am wondering if I should save very large xl2007 files as XLSB rather than XLSX - simply to save time when loading/saving the xl2007 files - all my code resides in XLAM files - so no issues that way. Any comments would be appreciated.

XLSB files do help in reducing file since, and they work just as efficiently as the normal format. Though not aware of any apparent benefits of using the normal format, I'd still recommend using XLSX for regular use, and XLSB for large files.....
A dream is not something you see when you are asleep, but something you strive for when you are awake.

It's usually a bad idea to say that something can't be done.

The difference between dream and aim, is that one requires soundless sleep to see and the other requires sleepless efforts to achieve

    XLSB Binary files

I have used 1000s of XLSB Binary files without an issue for almost 3+ years. The larger the file (e.g. 10MB+), the larger the time & disk space saving obviously (sometimes up to 80%+). File size reduction is very useful, if files are uploaded to Sharepoint, email attached etc.

The only drawback I can think, is that the Excel file cannot be rename to ZIP and unzipped or used with some 3rd party Excel software that read only xls, xlsx & xlsm.
