Niggly bit of playing around with number on Vista and Windows 7

There was a few niggles after the change from a 20 to 16 digit password/ code
XP was mostly no problem. Anything like
    refresh
    or
    restart
    or
Deactivating and Reactivating the WLAN thing in Control panel Netzwerkverbindungen
    Or
Anything similar usually resulted in the XP machine asking for the password/ code.

Windows 7 and Vista gave me some problems initially. They seemed to be stuck with the old 20 digit password and did not seem to want to offer me the chance to update it , or simple re give it after a restart or refresh. I found a way to somehow get it to change or want to ask for the new code. Something similar also seemed available in XP
The start point is to get at a list , one way or another , of available wireless connections currently “in the air” near you. Sometimes you may get offered that somewhere in the lower ribbon, towards the right, if you click on some symbol representing a wireless or aerial or antenna or similar. Another way is to navigate around Control panel / Systemsteurung
It seems to be a bit hap hazard how / when / if you can get at such a list, so I will add a few screenshots of how I have found it

    Vista

    Windows 7

Once you get at a small menu from right clicking which has Properties in it, then click on the Properties and you will have a chance to write in the password/code. ( Sometimes if a number is already there, it may be an indication of it being stuck with a number).

Windows 10 was a bit different. As you often find, when trying to navigate around using the control panel, Properties and other old Windows explorer type ways, ( https://i.postimg.cc/7P0P99Jb/right-...then-extra.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/6qJWw2g9/right-...lable-list.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/qqsk7BH2/right-...properties.jpg ) you sometimes seem to get intercepted by the new blue background poxy new stuff

But I did not need to find a way to get at a change in the code/password: Somehow it always knew when I had changed anything. ( So I always was offerd the chance to give a new password/code). Strange and unnerving. Possibly just Windows 10 spying on me all the time. ( I wonder if it saw me wanking about and drinking Beer last night? )
